And given that Miami is already known for being an explosion of colorful art deco buildings and vibrant personalities, the 4th of July Miami fireworks are icing on the cake.
To help you get the most of your Miami 4th of July 2022 weekend, we’ve gathered a list of activities you and the family can enjoy, along with some of the best spots to see those Miami fireworks.
What to expect on 4th of July in Miami
Thanks to almost 12 hours of sun a day and temperatures ranging between 82 and 86 F (28 and 30 C) during the day, the weather in Miami will give you that warm, tropical feeling. With that in mind, summer in Miami can be wet. With an average of over 40mm of rain starting in June and going through September, a vacation in July means you should expect some showers.
The average number of rainy days in Miami in July is 22. While each rain might not be too heavy, you’ll want to make sure you can pack something light in case you get caught in a drizzle while you’re out exploring. After all, the combination of warm days and rainfall do lead to humidity, so you really only need something waterproof that you can pack in your backpack or bag.
In addition to the weather, you’ll be traveling for the 4th of July weekend. For our international visitors, Independence Day is a national holiday in the US. For this kind of federal holiday, government buildings (like the post office) and banks are closed. Not to worry – the majority of shops and restaurants stay open throughout the long weekend, offering seasonal sales and promotions. You can find out more about their hours through their Instagram or Facebook pages.
On 4th of July itself, shops may be closed. This will depend on the type of shop and the area, so it’s best to confirm ahead of time. Also, it’s not unusual for restaurants to close early, so make sure to call ahead or have reservations for those must-visit stops instead of waiting till the last minute.

Planning A Trip To Miami For 4th Of July Weekend
Spending 4th of July in Miami offers a chance to enjoy an already great city in an exciting way. Already a city known for its energy and its cultural heritage, Independence Day in Miami is a great way to see the culture and the people come together to celebrate America’s birthday.
In particular, 4th of July Miami 2022 will be an even bigger celebration. The last two Independence Days saw event postponements and cancellations due to the pandemic and to the Surfside condominium collapse in 2021. While it was beautiful to see Miami come together as a city to support its people and its community in those hard moments, it did come at the cost of some of the more public events, like its Independence Day festivities.
2022 is the ideal time to visit Miami again as the communities come together to celebrate once again. Be a part of Miami returning to its glory as one of the top destinations to celebrate Independence Day in the United States!
