A Must-Try in New York’s Brunch Scene: Jacob’s Pickles
American Restaurant in Upper West Side
Prepare yourself for a New York Sunday brunch extravaganza at Jacob’s Pickles! This casual joint serves some of the best southern comfort food in the neighborhood, with fried chicken and waffles being one of the crowd favorites. Trust me; not only is their fried chicken a must-try, it’s even better paired with their tasty mac & cheese.
But a meal here is an event and their food quality is top, so don’t be surprised if it’s packed to the rafters every weekend. In other words, advance reservations are your best friend. Want another quick tip? Go for one of their 12 biscuit breakfast sandwiches and top it off with a pickled vegetable of your choice. Either way, Jacob’s Pickles is my go-to recommendation for friends visiting from out of town because a brunch here is like a Sunday Upper West Side tradition.

Be sure to try the Madame Freda, a mouthwatering pressed sandwich that’s as cozy as a hug from your favorite aunt. Or, for a sweeter option, go for the rosewater waffle, which is always a big hit. And for those who can’t resist a good cup of joe, their bottomless drip coffee is available until 4 pm and is a caffeinated dream come true! Now, let’s step outside of the box, and Imagine ourselves transported to a tropical Caribbean oasis, right in the middle of the East Village. Welcome to Miss Lily’s 7A, where their lively $65 bottomless brunch in NYC special includes a brunch entree and limitless drinks for two hours.
But let me warn you, don’t be surprised when you find yourself torn between Breakfast Roti and Jerk Chicken. The good news is, though, that you literally can’t go wrong. If you want a real taste of Jamaica, I recommend the Jamaican Rancheros or the Coconut Pancakes. Yet, no matter what you order, a boozy brunch at Miss Lily’s is a feast for both your palate and your soul!

Cookshop is a Great Spot for Brunch in Manhattan
American Restaurant in Chelsea
When the craving for brunch hits after exploring Chelsea’s galleries, Cookshop is an excellent option. Serving their brunch menu from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm on weekends, this modern American eatery has a beautifully illuminated interior and is a must-visit.
One of the things I like most is that their delicious dishes are as diverse as the city itself. Cookshop offers everything from their signature Cookshop Egg Sandwich to sweet treats and pastries like Beignets filled with DiPalo’s ricotta and blueberry jam. And if you’re feeling extra adventurous, do yourself a favor and try the chicken liver mousse – though it sounds weird – I promise it’s out of this world!
Fair warning, securing a seat can be difficult due to its popularity, so make reservations in advance. While this is inconvenient, I’ll be the first to say that you haven’t truly brunched Manhattan without a visit to Cookshop!

Enjoy an Amazing Brunch in NYC at Little Rebel
Other Restaurants in East Village
Little Rebel is one of the hippest brunch spots in Manhattan. Situated just a stone’s throw away from the serene Stuyvesant Square Park, you’ll immediately feel the rebellious spirit as you step in, thanks to the intriguing decor featuring iconic pop culture rebels.
Here’s my insider tip – go for their brioche French toast. Drenched in smoked maple syrup and topped with berries, it’s downright irresistible! But no worries, if you want something savory, Little Rebel also has many brunch plates to pick from! And if the sun’s shining, try to snag a seat on their upstairs patio, which is arguably the best spot for a New York City brunch. But what really sets Little Rebel apart from other restaurants is their vibrant cocktail list, so why not pair your plate with a colorful James Dean or Tyler Durden? You’ll be living life on the edge in no time!

Noreetuh
Other Restaurants in East Village
Noreetuh isn’t your ordinary brunch spot in Manhattan. It’s a modern Hawaiian restaurant in Chelsea where you’ll find brunch that embraces Hawaii’s Japanese, Polynesian, and American influences. Here, renowned Chef Chung Chow, an alum of Per Se, makes magic in the kitchen every Saturday and Sunday, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.
One of the must-try dishes? The Mochiko Chicken Loco Moco – a feast of fried dark meat chicken, graced with rich gravy and served with fried eggs and Hawaiian macaroni salad. Tip: order the King’s Hawaiian rolls as a side. Not to mention, they also sport an award-winning wine list, craft beers, and specialty sakes! Just remember, last call is at 2:15 pm, so don’t miss out!
My tip: Noreetuh has recently launched an exciting new cocktail program! Created by Courtney Smith and Ye Htoo Khaing Win, the menu now features unique Hawaiian-inspired tiki cocktails. For example, the Hawaiian Firefly combines jalapeños and rosemary with Casamigos Blanco, Aperol, lime juice, passion fruit puree and agave syrup, shaken and then served in a short tiki glass with a sprig of rosemary and a slice of jalapeño. Sounds delicious, right? But you can also order an Amaretto Colada or a Hawaiian Rose. All of these cocktails are also served with brunch.

American Restaurant in Upper West Side
For all the food lovers out there who value the comforting embrace of classic American fare, The Smith is your safe haven. This hotspot, which sprouted its roots in the East Village in 2007, has since spread its reach to six locations, including our beloved spot on Broadway, right opposite the Lincoln Center.
The Smith serves brunch until 4 pm on weekends and dishes out all your traditional favorites. Omelettes, lox, french toast, you name it, they’ve got it. But don’t let the constant crowd deter you. Snag a reservation and, if you’re lucky, an outdoor table for some quality people-watching. Personal recommendations? The stylish restaurant serves traditional French cuisine. Outside the menu you can also choose from the seafood bar and the delicacies from the Balthazar Bakery. The breakfast is legendary and the home-baked bread is especially convincing. By the way, you can get a lot more of it in the adjacent bakery.
If you come here for brunch I recommend the Scrambled Eggs in Puff Pastry with wild mushrooms and asparagus (choose smoked bacon as a topping!)! On your visit, consider pairing your H&H bagel with cream cheese schmears and buttery, ocean-steeped nova. Or opt for the cloud-like scrambled eggs adorned with onions and smoked fish morsels. It’s also worth noting that you shouldn’t miss the heavenly cream cheese blintzes topped with a dollop of sour cream or fruit preserves.
