Levain Bakery
Café in Greenwich Village
Levain Bakery is one of the hippest bakeries in all of New York. They became famous for their oversized cookies, which are always sold fresh in a relaxed atmosphere. They are so popular that they are now also in the Upper West Side (2x), in the NoHo neighborhood on Bleecker Street and in Williamsburg.
All of the stores have one thing in common: the smell of baked goods is amazing, the selection of cookies, breads, and pastries is large, and their coffee is delicious.
I’m not really a fan of anything sweet myself, but the Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Sour Cream Coffee Cake were sensationally good. Be sure to take some time and sit on the bench in front of Levain Bakery with a cookie and a coffee. It’s a great way to watch the New Yorkers!
