As you know, I love the rooftop bars of New York City – they are always a highlight for me, especially in the summer. They are really awesome on the 4th of July because you can see the beautiful skyline of New York City and the famous 4th of July fireworks.
Here I will tell you which rooftop bars have a great view of the 4th of July fireworks. Very important: some of them you can only visit with a ticket, and sometimes there are also rooftop parties – you can see all of them here on my ‘best list!’
My tip: check out my guide to the 4th of July in NYC – you’ll learn all about the fireworks, the best 4th of July boat tours, and the best places from which to see the fireworks!
You can see the 4th of July fireworks in NYC from these rooftop bars
One more note: I’m constantly updating this list because many rooftop bars haven’t announced their final lineup yet, and also because it’s not yet clear where the fireworks will be set off over the East River this year. It has previously taken place near the Brooklyn Bridge, but has also occurred at the United Nations buildings.

Westlight NYC
Rooftop Bar in Williamsburg
Our Highlight
Rooftop Bar Westlight at The William Vale Hotel
The Westlight in Brooklyn is considered one of the most beautiful rooftop bars in New York – and rightly so! It belongs to The William Vale Hotel and has a rooftop bar, a lounge area, a bar and a restaurant. What distinguishes the Westlight from many other spots is the unspoilt panoramic view of Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan.

Bar Blondeau
Rooftop Bar in Williamsburg
Right next to the Brooklyn Brewery (our favorite beer) is the Wythe Hotel with its rooftop bar Blondeau. From there you have a great view on the skyline of Manhattan. And: the bar is totally relaxed: no bottle service (i.e. you don’t have to take off whole bottles of champagne and co.) and no dress code make for a relaxed atmosphere.
